PRA Booster Station Update

Perkasie Regional Authority enlists expertise of M&W Precast to expand their water service.

Perkasie Regional Authority (PRA), Sellersville, PA serves the Borough of Perkasie and surrounding communities. Located in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia, PRA has provided high-quality, cost-effective water and sewer services to its growing residential and business customer base for more than a century.

To ensure an adequate supply of water for drinking and use in fire emergency situations PRA added 6 booster pumps at an existing, 100’ tall, two million gallon, public water system tank. The added pressure created by the pumps will affect a 3 mile stretch of service area in the communities of East and West Rockhill.

PRA tasked local Easi-Set Building producer M&W Precast, LLC to design and produce a structure to house all the pump equipment and also meet the aesthetic needs of the community.

The 24' wide x 40' long x 12'-8" high, precast concrete Easi-Set Building consists of six (6) 9" thick R-19 insulated wall panels and four (4) 10" thick roof panels which support a 1500# manual trolley monorail for pump & valve removal. In addition to the core building a 10' x 10' coiling overhead door and standing metal seam roofing on a wood gable roof over R-38 batt insulation was also installed. The structural design will provide both resilience and thermal efficiency. The entire structure sits on a pre-poured concrete slab in which the pump lines were installed. The entire property will be screened from neighboring community by using existing vegetation and new fencing.
